Hi there and welcome to Melodic Exchange. My name is Gary, my team and I are on a mission to give you simplified and actionable recording arts and music production advice to help you make informed decisions.
If you're a new reader and want to know more about starting your career in music and audio production, check out our START HERE page.
Melodic Exchange was established in 2015 with the goal to provide easy to understand recording arts and education advice that makes a real impact. I was always frustrated seeing too many audio production related sites fail to provide actionable information to their readers.
I wanted Melodic Exchange to be different, and I made a commitment to making sure our advice can be followed by regular people with a love for the arts who are looking for real answers to help realize their dream careers.
My Story
I grew up never really giving too much thought about the audio recording or music production processes. Sure I loved the latest drops and soundtracks, anything that had an amazing ambience to it, but other than that I had a very average childhood. After deciding to make the recording arts my career, my education at Full Sail dramatically changed my perceptions on how recording and manipulating sound could deeply affect others in a positive way.
I DJ’d and toured a few clubs a bit, but after I got married, my priorities changed. I realized that teaching others the art of recording helped them fulfil their own dreams and kept my own skills in the game - without being away from my family. I've really transformed my views on audio and sound production. I constantly learn more about the production, teach others and generally make sure the recording arts continue to flourish as they evolve.

“I was born with music inside me. Music was one of my parts. Like my ribs, my kidneys, my liver, my heart. Like my blood. It was a force already within me when I arrived on the scene. It was a necessity for me – like food or water”
